Marsha Carr – President & CEO of Success Capital

This month, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on the heart of Success Capital — our President and CEO, Marsha Carr. Her dedication, insight, and passion for supporting small businesses are the driving force behind our mission to make SBA 504 loans simple, accessible, and impactful.

🔹 Why Success Capital?

Marsha’s journey began in August 2001 when she joined the Success Capital Board of Directors. After more than a decade of watching the SBA 504 loan program positively impact local businesses — and actively referring clients herself — she stepped into the role of President in 2012. “I sold the product often because I truly believe in it,” she says.

🔹 Wisdom from Experience

When it comes to working with the SBA, Marsha has learned to never give up too soon:

Marsha shares that after years of experience navigating complex loan scenarios.

“There have been many times when a deal seemed impossible at first glance,” she explains, “but after digging deeper, listening carefully to the client and collaborating with the banking partner, we found a path forward. Those moments remind me not to give up too quickly—solutions often come when you keep asking the right questions.”

🔹 Advice for Small Business Owners

“Have a good accountant—someone who acts as a strategic ally in every major move.”

Marsha emphasizes how vital the right financial partner can be: “A great accountant can help you grow; the wrong one can cost you dearly.” She adds an important reminder: “You are not tied to your accountant or bookkeeper forever. If they’re not providing value, it might be time to move on.”

🔹 Beyond the Office

When she’s not leading the charge at Success Capital, Marsha is enjoying time with her new Australian Shepherd puppy, Tucker, and training him to be the best office mascot in the making.

🔹 A Memorable Success Story

Marsha recalls a business owner who initially didn’t respond to outreach — but later returned, seeking a refinance. Success Capital was able to help just before the pandemic, allowing the client to take full advantage of SBA relief programs. That client is now one of our strongest advocates, sending referrals our way and singing the praises of the SBA 504 loan.

🔹 Mindset for Success

“Pay attention to the details — and if things don’t go as planned, stay positive and keep going.”

🔹 The Legacy She’s Building

Marsha is especially proud of the culture at Success Capital. “Everyone gets along, stays positive, and is truly customer service–centered.” Marsha hopes Success Capital will always be known as helpful, customer-focused, and living up to our promise: “We Make SBA 504 Loans Simple.”
