Sometimes the best business ideas begin with… a problem that needs solving.
For Bruno and Joelle Machado, owners of Courtside Sports Manteca, that problem was close to home. Their daughters played volleyball, and their club often struggled to find consistent places to practice. Sometimes practices were even missed because court space simply wasn’t available. So…Bruno started thinking about a solution.
As an airline pilot, Bruno spent plenty of time traveling for work. In between flights, he began sketching ideas on napkins and thinking through what it would take to build a sports facility of their own.
What started as an idea eventually became Courtside Sports Manteca, a facility built to serve athletes, teams and families throughout Manteca and the surrounding communities. Today, Courtside hosts volleyball tournaments, basketball events, futsal, pickleball and more.
For Joelle, watching something that once existed only in Bruno’s imagination become a reality was especially meaningful. She described how fascinating it was to watch his vision come to life during construction.
From an Idea to… Continued Growth
